20-year-old writing student living in the middle of the bottom right side of Australia. Or is that the bottom-left side? Anyway. I like to think that one day I'll be a film-maker or something along those lines, or at least work in some kind of visual medium. I make comics (The Disconnect, I Love Lupus) but I'm not sure what I want to do with them in the future, and hardly find time anymore anyway, which is a shame but that's just the way it is.
My interests include film and music and art and human behaviour, particularly the study thereof. I think the English language is pretty good, actually, and that people should stop killing it and start using it to its full advantage what with wordplays and subtleties and irony and everything. The world would be a lot less fucked if people expressed their woes with subtle wordplay rather than more tangible weaponry.
I'm a habitual smoker (ah, the things you pick up when you're 17 and can't drop when you're 20) but I rarely drink except with my friends, who I like a lot (which goes without saying, because if I didn't like them I wouldn't think they were so good, obviously). I do believe in freedom of choice and the freedom of individuals to express their choices without being hassled for it in the streets - that is as long as they're not being a jerk about it in the first place.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I do think the concepts put forward in The Illuminatus! Trilogy feel a little too close to home to be far-fetched. I'm a Discordian by nature but otherwise utterly agnostic.
I was once misanthropic, but now I'm just generally cynical. At least I'm more friendly now that I'm an adult (ish). Even though my faith in the existence of every-day beauty has been shaken a few times, I still find there are things in the world which are inexplicably lovely. I'm fascinated by street crazies and bizarre messages from people unknown (such as odd graffiti in odd places). Or perhaps I'm just generally fascinated by human expression.
I am NOT, however, interested in right-wing dogma, homophobia, extroverted jerk-offs, people who use violence as a means to an end without any kind of apparent need for moral justification, and general nastiness like that. I often find it hard to believe that people can be such assholes.
I collect vinyls; I'm quite proud of my collection and if you find yourself near it and I like you enough, you might even get to touch some, if any appeal to you (my tastes can be either generally eclectic or idiosyncratic and obscure).
Let's be friends! I like you! Am getting to know you.
